So…I had an interesting weekend. Tooth or two Macbook Pros.
It’s Tuesday, and now I am writing about my weekend. One can say it was an action-packed weekend of sorts. I haven’t had weekends like this in a long time.
Friday:
- picked up prescription
- watched A Prairie Home Companion while waiting for my brother to come down
- after originally wanting to go to Red Robin (and finding out that there wasn’t one nearby) we went to Fuddruckers and enjoyed a delicious hamburger with cheesy fries
- my tooth fell out while eating (nothing hard, mind you, and technically, it was a crown)
- went home and played burnout revenge on the playstation with my fiancee and my brother
- watched Heroes (NBC) on the Media Center before going to bed really late
Saturday:
- woke up early and played one more video game with my brother before he left for his house
- made an appointment for the dentist to put on the fallen crown, later on in the day
- went to Costco and discovered ready to grille tri-tip.
- went to dentist, who gave me some bad news. the foundation for the crown was gone and told me that I would be looking at a dental implant. after giving me an estimate ($2,000–I don’t have dental insurance), referred me to an oral surgeon
- found a hidden (more or less) marina with an awesome view of the San Diego bay and took less than stellar images with the camera phone
- went to fiancee’s condo to cook tri-tip and mash potatoes
Sunday:
- woke up and made yummy omelette with tri-tip and mushrooms
- watched Slither (wow, hey, I had a ton of Blockbuster movies to watch)
- took a nap
- went to Quizno’s sub and enjoyed roman chicken salads
- returned Blockbuster movies
- began filling up pool with water (it was very low)
- designed the wedding invitations and continued further work on the wedding website
- forgot about filling the pool.
- my fiancee and I went in the pool (at night) to scoop out lots of water
Monday:
- went to oral surgeon and found out that the cost of an implant, new crown, extraction was going to cost me over $4,000.
- realized my purchase of a Macbook Pro would have to be postponed
- wondered how long it would take to finish the massive Costco tri-tip.
Do I have some lessons learned here? Why, yes. Yes I do.
- Too much of a good thing can be bad (do you know what red meat does to a body?)
- Get dental insurance.
