I have been playing video games for a long time. During LAN parties (yes, I do those), I have been known to be among the (ahem) champion of a round or two.
All this time, I thought it was skill.
Apparently, I was wrong. It’s a magical power that is built into my writing hand.
Apparently, south paws are not only better at playing games, we are also better jet fighter pilots.
Says article:
Research shows that the left and right hemispheres communicate and work together better in left-handers, as information transfers from one to the other slightly faster and perhaps more efficiently.
He says the left-hander’s brain is wired slightly differently to the right-hander’s as it tends to be more symmetrical with larger and perhaps faster connections between hemispheres.
Air Force, here I come.

No, we San Diegans don’t get the latest AMD processor or the next iPod before anyone else in the world. Rather, we have three Jack in the Box restaurants that have touch-screen LCD order taking.
Oh, sukie, sukie.
Now, no more pissed off fast food employee taking your order or (worse) not taking your order and rather chatting with the cooks about how great the party was last night at Wayne’s and how it was fun watching all the freshmen get so drunk and then painting certain body parts on their forehead and Simon who was outside peeing in the bushes.
Ah yes, it’s the little things.

CNET Editor James Kim has died.
James Kim has passed away trying to find help for his family in the Oregon wilderness. He will be missed.
Many of my friends know that I have wanted to be a technical journalist. The plan was for me to move up to the bay area some day and write for MaximumPC or something from the CNet cache of magazines or online sites. But it was not meant to be, as I still sit as an engineer in little ol’San Diego.
But to, through the years, read his statements and reviews, and watch him, it allowed me to vicariously live through his experiences. Then for him to disappear so quickly.
James you will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
