Sulfur, an essential component of all living cells.

As everyone knows, I have been a Flock proponent since I first found out about it (back around version 0.40).

Read my pro-Flock posts here and here.

However, since Firefox 2.0 came out and many have been moving to Zooomr for their photos, Flock seemed to look and feel much more dated.

I am still holding on to Flock, though my grip is weakening. There is a better RSS aggregator in Google reader (I can jump on it from different computers and it keeps track of the blogs I have read). I don’t use Flickr or PhotoBucket, so the photo portion was never there. The blog editor is too basic.

That being said, a Flock guy (Evan Hamilton) left a comment on my blog.

Hey Spencer,

I think you’re pronouncing us dead a bit too soon. We’re still hard at work here at Flock creating cooler and more stable features. We’re on track for our 0.8 release (which does use the Firefox 2.0 engine)…if you want to take a sneak peak, you can see the daily test builds here: http://tinderbox.flock.com/builds/trunk_sulfur/ (keep in mind that they are test builds and not necessarily stable).

As for Zooomr integration, I don’t think we’ve ever announced a decision regarding integration with them, but they are definitely a service high on our list of considerations.

I hope you’ll swing by and give us another try when we hit 0.8!

I have tried out the 0.8 build. I don’t know. I am still forming an opinion. I do like the RSS presentation, though.

I’ll keep you posted.
