…since I’ve written anything about you.
This past weekend, someone who (surprisingly) reads my blog (but not as an RSS) questioned, upon looking at my footwear–”why aren’t you wearing Crocs?” I replied, almost in unison with my wife, that they were–but not Crocs in the typically rubbery (actually Croslite) state. They were these awesome, just as comfortable and remarkably light and breathable Crocs Santa Cruz.
And this isn’t the first time, either. People have been asking me…hey–where are the Crocs? And I’ve been replying…yo–they’re on my feet. Those are Crocs.
I think, barring anything extreme (like Crocs going out of business or Tom Cruise suddenly sporting them), I will always wear Crocs. Even if they eventually just whittle down into a company that makes tap shoes, then you’ll certainly hear my feet clapping loudly down the hall. Am I a fanatic? Perhaps–but it’s at least cheaper than those fanboys who have to have every new Apple or video card.
Working on the yard this weekend, I had to don something other than Crocs. I strapped on my Merrell shoes and about three minutes later, longed for the fresh comfortable feel of the Crocs. Don’t get me wrong, the Merrells are comfortable–and with a rigid sole that allowed me to shovel into the hard clay ground also known as San Diego. But once you get a pair of Crocs, you’ll know what I mean.
I don’t care how ugly they are, Crocs are fantastic and I’ll be a spokesperson for free.

First off, this blog post is sort of a run on collection of twitters…but rather than slam twitter, I thought I’d slap it together here.
It has to be at least a year since I last wrote one of these. But I just have to put this out there…this past week has got to be one of the most productive I’ve ever had.
To add, I was sick for much of it…damn allergies. Not to mention the 9 to 5 day job.
Anyhow…on Wednesday, I had a new window installed (beautiful–XOX–all on a monorail). Oversaw the installation of the shade sails in the backyard–two four feet deep holes to hold gigantic iron posts. Oversaw the building of a 12 x 12 extension of the deck. Awesome.
Got to use a jackhammer to dig nearly 20 5-gallon holes in the yard. Sore and tired from all of that. Sore. As in typing hurts sore. Sunburnt. Did I mention sore?
Watched a whole bunch of former engineering students gather at someone’s house. That was fun. The highlight was watching them enter a certain technique that unlocked all of the songs in a guitar playing video game.
Still sore from digging the previous holes, we continued to dig another 10. Bought Wipeout HD on the Playstation 3. Watched two Blu-Ray movies. Found that the game doesn’t download while you watch movies.
So that was it. It was busy, super productive, and really tiring, but the house is certainly coming along.
